🩷 From Sprinter to Distance Runner
I took up running to lose weight.
At 40 years old, I’m still finding new targets to chase. For someone who was always a sprinter, long distance was never really my forte. Running continuously for kilometres was a completely different game.
A few months ago, it started with the first blister, heavy legs, slow miles and plenty of doubt.
Today, it’s a sub-35-minute 5K.
5.14 km | 33:08 | 6:27/km 🏃♂️
Today’s race was meant to be an easy 5K. The goal was simple: sub-30 minutes, and don’t stop or walk.
I managed one of those goals.
I didn’t stop.
The sub-30 will have to wait. 😏
But that’s the beauty of starting something new. Not every target gets ticked on the day. Sometimes the biggest win is realising that what once felt impossible is now your starting point.
40 years old and still setting new targets.
Still learning. Still improving. Still showing up.
The road to 21K is long.
But I’ll get there, one kilometre at a time.
Still growing. Still progressing. Still showing up. 🏃♂️🔥
